Understanding the return-period of a pandemic can be as important as solving its immediate impacts, as public health policies can be applied preemptively. This project proposes using data related to previous flu pandemics and the ntegration of current databases to analyse patterns and create statistical scenarios, capable of estimating the probability and trajectory until another outbreak.

Dr Faisal Ahammed

Dr Faisal Ahammed is a Senior Lecturer of Water Engineering at the University of South Australia (UniSA). He completed BSc Civil Engineering and Master of Engineering Management degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2002 and 2009 respectively. He obtained Australian Commonwealth Scholarship (Endeavour Award) to perform his PhD research at UniSA in 2010 and his PhD degree was conferred in 2014. He was the recipient of UniSA’s Early Career Development Fellowship during the period of 2013 - 2015. He performed a short spell research at National University of Singapore in 2015. He also worked as a visiting scholar at National Taiwan University in 2018. He currently works as a Program Director for Master of Engineering (Civil & Infrastructure, and, Water Resources Management) program at UniSA. He published around 40 peer reviewed journal and conference articles.
