Anabaena is designing a system for the production of RNA (ribonucleic acid) based therapeutics, suitable for use in cancer treatments, vaccines, and tissue regeneration, using virus like particles in the chloroplasts of plants to encase the RNA

Derin Fasipe is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurial Biotechnology at Case Western Reserve University. His project, Anabaena, is about the development of genetic engineering tools for the use of plants in industries such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, and consumer goods. Prior to his graduate education, Derin earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Case Western Reserve University with majors in Economics and Finance.
