About

Xhaust is an add-on filter designed to reduce the emissions caused by idle vehicles such as food trucks and construction vehicles. These emissions are typically invisible, but they nevertheless have severe consequences for the people exposed and to the environment as a whole. Xhaust responds to this problem by providing an attachable filter that can be fitted over the vehicle’s exhaust pipe. The design consists of an external fan, filter module and inflatable vinyl. This vinyl serves a dual purpose: the vehicle’s emissions gradually inflate it over the course of the day, indicating the level of captured exhaust; and it provides road signage to alert passersby of the vehicle’s idle status.
