Project Overview
About
Aedes is a trap that seeks to capture mosquitoes, keep them alive and use them as scientific research material. This will help scientists develop better preventative campaigns against diseases such as Dengue fever, of which Latin America is currently experiencing its highest ever epidemic levels. During the winter, mosquito eggs grow and during the summer they infect populations leading to healthcare systems collapsing. This trap aims to alleviate this cycle.

Viglione + Maurer is a collaboration between Cindy Viglione and Lucia Maurer, two industrial designers who joined forces having met at the faculty of Urban, Architecture and Design at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. We focus on the development of products for environmental and biotechnological intervention, we are mainly interested in the relationship of human beings with nature, and the way in which that relationship is modified and damaged, affecting people's quality of life.
